Clinical Trials Certificate Program Application

Applying to the Clinical Trials Graduate Education Certificate Program is a two-step process. You will need to submit our departmental application (step one) and an application to the UGA Graduate School (step two). As a summary document, it is NOT all inclusive. For the detailed instructions, use this page as your reference.

Be sure to start this process at least 6 weeks prior to the deadline to assure that materials are received by the deadlines. All materials must be received by the departmental deadlines. The Office of Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Programs will consider only completed applications.

  • We admit into the Clinical Trials Program only one-time per year. The deadline for applications is June 1st for domestic applicants and April 15th for international applicants.

 

Clinical Trials Design & Management Graduate Education Certificate Program Application

This application is for the Clinical Trials Certificate Program only. Courses completed in the Certificate Program may be used at a later time to fulfill a portion of the coursework for the Masters of Science Degree in Pharmacy (with an emphasis in Regulatory Affairs). The Master's Program is a separate application process and additional admission criteria is required.

  1. This Program Application is a department application specific to the Clinical Trials program, a part of the Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Programs.
  2. Admissions decisions will be made only on completed files.
  3. Deadlines: Applications for admission and all supporting documents(including all Graduate School Application materials) must be received in the Regulatory Affairs Office by:

    Deadlines (domestic applicants):
    Fall Semester June 1

    Deadlines (international applicants):
    Fall Semester April 15
  • The Department deadline takes precedence over the UGA Graduate School deadline.
  1. Applicant will also need to submit a University of Georgia Graduate School Application and supply the necessary information to Graduate School. This is a separate application process. The web address for UGA's Graduate School is www.grad.uga.edu/apply.html. Be sure to note that you are non-degree seeking candidate. The Major Code is CERT_2CTD.
  2. The application forms below have been created in Adobe Acrobat. You will need Adobe Reader in order to view and print it. If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, you may fill out this form on your computer, save it, print it, and mail it in with the other requested information. Do not email this application to the department for security reasons. Emailed applications will not be considered.
  3. Tip: Be mindful of spelling and grammar on your application materials. Be sure to submit documents that have been properly proof-read and corrected for errors.

Important notes:

  1. Do not email or call with questions on the status of your application. You may track your status by accessing the UGA Graduate School online tracking system at: gradstatus.uga.edu.
  • Once a decision has been made on your application, you will be contacted by the UGA Graduate School. The department is unable to answer question related to an applicant's admission status.
  1. Information requested by the UGA Graduate School Admissions should be sent to their attention, www.uga.edu/gradschool/admissions/requirements.html.

  2. Letters of Recommendation: Use the UGA Graduate School online recommendation form for your letters. Although the UGA Graduate School says the applicant needs 3 letters of recommendation, for this Certificate Program you need only 2. For the third recommendation form-field, simply enter your email address to complete the required fields. All letters must be complete by the deadline in order for the applicant to be considered.
  • The names and e-mail addresses of recommenders who are familiar with the applicant's professional and/or academic work should be listed in the on-line Graduate School application by the applicant. Recommenders will receive a link to access a secure page in order to submit the recommendation via the Web. If the recommender does not have access to email, please send an email to regaffairs[at]rx.uga.edu requesting a “Letter of recommendation” form.
  • The faculty in the Regulatory Affairs Program will not provide letters of recommendation to applicants applying to any of the Regulatory Affairs programs.
  1. No GRE Scores are required for admission consideration into the Certificate Program.

  2. Use caution if sending any information by email. Email servers are not secure to handle sensitive information like social security numbers.

  3. Financial Aid is not available for Certificate-admitted students. For questions on Financial Aid, please contact the UGA Financial Aid Office.

Application Process (a two-step process)

(Remember to start this application process at least 6 weeks prior to the deadline listed.)

Step I. Complete Clinical Trials Design and Management Program Application.

Provide the Reg Affairs Department with:

  1. Personal Profile: Two-page Personal Information Profile found in the Clinical Trials Graduate Education Program Application document.
  2. Statement of Purpose: Provide a statement of purpose - one page in length addressing why you are interested in this program.
  3. Resume: Professional resume outlining applicant's clinical trials or regulatory affairs experience.

Step II. Complete the UGA Graduate School Application as non-degree seeking student

Provide the UGA Graduate School with:

  1. Application: Graduate School application - The Graduate School will accept only online applications.
    Refer to this URL for any questions on Graduate School Admission: grad.uga.edu/index.php/prospective-students/. Hint: Program Degree Code – Once on the UGA Graduate School website, enter “Online Certificate Programs” in the Search field. Click on either the RA Certificate or CT Certificate and it will have the degree codes needed for the Graduate School Application. The degree codes are: CERT_2PBR for the RA Certificate and CERT_2CTD for the Clinical Trials (CT) Certificate. Please contact the UGA Graduate School for assistance with the Application at 706-542-1739 or by email at gradadm@uga.edu.

  2. Recommendation letters: Two (2) letters of recommendation - Use the UGA Graduate School online recommendation form for your letters. Although the UGA Graduate School says the applicant needs 3 letters of recommendation, for this Certificate Program you need only 2. For the 3rd recommendation form-field, simply enter your email address to complete the required fields. All letters must be complete by the deadline in order for the applicant to be considered.

  3. UGA Graduate School Fee: An application fee is required. Refer to the UGA Graduate School for the most up-to-date cost to apply, grad.uga.edu/index.php/prospective-students/.
  • Note on UGA Graduate School Application: Your UGA Graduate School application is valid only for the semester for which you have applied. Applicants are eligible for a one-time move of an application without submitting a new application or fee, but must submit the request in writing before late registration of the original semester of matriculation has ended. If you need to request a one-time move, contact gradadm@uga.edu.
  1. Transcripts - For domestic and international applicants, send two (2) official copies of academic transcripts from the institution awarding the highest degree. For non-degree admission, only the transcript from the highest degree earned is required. Official copies must originate from the awarding institution and must be sent in a sealed envelope to the UGA Graduate School.

Hints to filling out Graduate School Application:Online Application:

The Certificate program major code is CERT_2CTD. Please select CERT_2CTD Clinical Trials as your intended major of study. Then select ND (non-degree seeking) as your Intended Degree of Study. Allow 10-14 working days for receipt and processing of these materials by the Graduate School Admissions Office. The University of Georgia will admit students based on admission criteria set by the university. Applicants must be accepted by the Graduate School. Applicants are responsible for providing for all the necessary application materials required by the Graduate School. These include: general application for admission, an application fee, transcripts, and entrance test scores.
